BRIEF HISTORY
Curray Limited was incorporated in 1956 and commenced business basically as a supplier of stationery and office equipment. In 1979 it diversified into farming and became a pioneer in the Republic of Zambia in the growing of exotic fruit trees, such as nectarines, peaches, apricots, and apples. To manage the farm effectively, it recruited expatriate farm managers and introduced quality fruit.
The company also holds the agency for Olivetti Spa, Italy. Under this agency, the company used to import and sell calculators, typewriters, photocopiers, and computers. The company has a presence in Lusaka, Livingstone, Ndola, and Kitwe with well-stocked workshops to undertake the repairs and maintenance of all types of Olivetti equipment. Owing to changes in market demand and supply factors, it became prudent to engage with Chubb Locks & Safes Company in view of the necessity to embrace modern business techniques to meet current demands. Since 1986 we have been commercially representing Chubb (Gunnebo) company to date.
